How to test the hardness of stellite alloy

There are four kinds of commonly used testing instruments, Rockwell hardness tester, Brinell hardness tester, Vickers-hardness tester and Handheld hardness tester. For Stellite alloy and its special properties, Rockwell hardness tester is a suitable way.

The how to test the harness by Rockwell hardness tester?

Firstly, we should find a sample that meet the national standard, such as it must be a machined surface, and it has good flatness, etc.

Secondly, take a scale that close to the hardness to calibrate the hardness tester, then we begin to test the the hardness of it. Ignoring the value of the first point, and take the average hardness of the other three points.

Because the Rockwell hardness tester calculates its hardness according to the depth of crushing,  so after the test, there will be dents on the surface of the workpiece. If you mind, it is better to test before finishing.
